Guidance for sellers
-
Consumers are entitled to put faith in any description you apply. For example, if you describe a watch as "working" it should be.
-
Decide in advance what price you would like for each item, but also be prepared to be flexible. Some people like to price up their items and label them, or bunch them together – e.g. All items in this box are £1.
-
Bring a folding table
-
Pack your car the night before, putting your table in last so you can access it easily.
-
Clothing is best displayed on a hanging rail and sizes clearly marked makes it easier for people to browse.
-
Bring some change so that you’re ready for those first buyers.
-
If you have some spare carrier bags, they can be useful for those that don’t have enough bags to carry their bargains home in.
-
Electricity is not provided.
